Florida In Spring

If you are interested in vacationing in Florida, there is no better time than the Spring. Temperatures are just perfect 24/7, especially in April and May, and most places are relatively uncrowded because the snowbirds have gone back north and the children are still in school. This is especially important if you are interested in visiting the state's many theme parks, where the lines will be MUCH shorter than usual.

If you enjoy water sports such as swimming, surfing, canoeing, kayaking, or surfing you should definitely visit Florida in the Spring. The water is warm and refreshing, but not so warm that you feel as though you are bathing. If you intend to use the inland waterways, it is best to visit in the early Spring before mosquitoes become a nuisance.

For beachgoers, there's a special bonus at this time of the year. Sea turtle nesting season begins May 1st, and there are abundant opportunities to walk the beach and observe a variety of turtle species laying their eggs during the late night hours (It's best to go with a guide).

During the day, many beaches are relatively uncrowded, and some you can even have entirely to yourself, as a result of the relatively low human population at this time of the year. This, of course, makes Spring an ideal time for collecting shells since there is little competition for the perfect specimens. You can also have an enjoyable time just watching the many species of sea birds feeding along the shore and in the shallows.

So, whether you are interested in an enjoyable, relaxing vacation at a quiet beach with opportunities to see abundant wildlife, or you would prefer to spend significant time at the many theme parks, Spring is definitely the time to visit Florida. If you're lucky you may even be able to view a rocket launch at the space center, or catch a huge trophy while deep sea fishing. So, pack a few of your favorite T-shirts and swimsuits and head to Florida for a GREAT vacation.

By the way, hurricane season doesn't begin until June 1st. So, don't worry about those nasty storms. In fact, the early Spring months are generally pretty dry.
